2025 Wedding Inspiration from a Hawaii Wedding Photographer

Something incredible about the wedding industry is how it’s constantly evolving year after year. It’s a beautiful phenomenon to witness and to document. Each year I’m blown away by the creativity, the intention, and the unique flair that couples infuse into their wedding day, and it’s something I’m so grateful to be able to document as a Hawaii wedding photographer. With this in mind, I’d like to take a look at some examples of this from my recent 2025 weddings to give future couples inspiration as to what’s possible with a wedding in the modern age.

Film Photography

Yes, film photography is back, and I could not be happier! Something I’ve included in my different packages as a Hawaii wedding photographer is a mixture of film and digital photos for this very reason. Couples are not only craving a beautiful, elegant, and effortless wedding, they want to experience the raw unfiltered emotions of the day itself. Documentary photography does a great job of capturing these feelings, but there’s something magical about the way traditional film photography does this that is simply undeniable and so special.

Multi-Day Wedding Experiences

In a recent article of mine I discussed the benefits of planning a multi-day wedding in Hawaii, and it’s something I’m SO happy to see more and more couples choosing for their day. Spreading out the celebration of your wedding across multiple days is such a great way to elevate your wedding weekend while also giving you more meaningful time with those you love. It gives you freedom to actually slow down, take a moment, and experience your wedding to the fullest, something I think every couple can resonate with.

Statement Fashion

Another area where my couples have really started to go the extra mile in terms of expression and creativity is making conscious decisions when it comes to the different outfits they’ll wear throughout the wedding experience. Whether its for getting ready, the reception, the welcome dinner, and/or the farewell brunch, these are all different events that deserve a similar level of thought and care as your main wedding attire. The switches between outfits also make for some of the most exciting moments from the day, as well as some of the most fun photos.

Flatlays with a Twist

Part of wedding day artistry that I love as a photographer in Hawaii are the flatlays I get to create. These flatlays have been a staple of the wedding industry for some time now, though there’s still plenty of ways to make them unique and individual to your wedding day:

  • Late Night Flatlays for Unique Lighting

  • Include Family Heirlooms such as a Mother’s Veil

  • Include Elements from Your Relationship such as the Cork from the Champagne You Popped for the Engagement

  • Unique Details from Your Venue like Seashells at a Beach Resort in Hawaii

  • Incorporate Fruits or Other Foods in Your Wedding Colors

A Food Focused Experience

I love when couples go the extra mile when it comes to the food of their wedding day, and like many of the points above this can take shape in a variety of different ways. Whether it’s choosing to celebrate in a romantic and luxurious restaurant like Beach House Kauai, including delicious late night snacks for your reception, or getting a bit more artistic like Efren and Jamila did with their strawberry cake and champagne tower. The possibilities are endless, and as a Hawaii wedding photographer I’m always so excited for the opportunity to document these creative and delicious additions to any wedding day!

Leaning into You

Arguably the most important part of elevating your wedding day in a way that feels like you is to really lean into what makes you and your love unique. If you love hiking and exploring as an example, consider booking a ‘trash the dress’ session the day after your wedding to satisfy that side of your love and get some photos that feel like you in the truest sense. There’s no better way to ensure that your photos feel like you than to really lean into your unique personalities for the day itself.
